Rosewood Backyard Deck

PHC partnered with a first-time homeowner in Rosewood to design and build a deck that created practical access to their detached garage while giving the property a distinctive presence in the neighbourhood.

The homeowner’s goal

A better way to move between home, backyard, and garage.

The first-time homeowner came to PHC with a practical need: easier access to their detached garage. PHC worked closely with them to understand how the backyard needed to function and how a new deck could make that everyday route feel natural.

The design

The practical requirement became the starting point, not the limit.

Instead of treating the deck as a simple connection to the garage, PHC developed the layout, railings, materials, and finishing details as one complete design. The result responds to how the homeowner uses the property while giving the backyard an identity of its own.

The finished deck

Useful every day, and distinctive within the neighbourhood.

What began as a request for garage access became a defining feature of the property. The finished deck gives the homeowner the connection they needed, adds character to the backyard, and drew the attention of neighbours once the work was complete.
